CIUDAD DE MÉXICO (apro).- La Fiscalía General de Justicia del Estado de Sonora (FGJES) informó que inició trabajos para localizar y capturar a los responsables directos del ataque ocurrido a un turista extranjero que fue perseguido y asesinado a balazos en una carretera de la entidad.
De acuerdo con la Fiscalía, los elementos de la Policía Municipal que actuaron como primeros respondientes en el caso y los testigos que se encontraban en el lugar, declararon que un vehículo se emparejó con el automóvil en el que viajaba Nicholas Douglas, de 30 años, residente de Tucson, Arizona, acompañado de su novia y su suegra y, desde el interior, realizaron disparos contra ellos.
“Paramédicos de la Cruz Roja arribaron al lugar a las 19:51 horas para brindar atención médica al lesionado, pero confirmaron que ya no presentaba signos vitales.
“Tras tener conocimiento de los hechos, las fuerzas de seguridad de los tres niveles de gobierno implementaron un operativo para localizar y detener a los responsables de este lamentable suceso”, indicó la Fiscalía.
De acuerdo con los primeros reportes, el ataque ocurrió luego de que Nicholas, quien se dirigía a vacacionar a las playas de Puerto Peñasco, no se detuvo en un retén del narcotráfico.
