CIUDAD DE MÉXICO (apro).- Roberto Cabezas, jugador del Independiente Juniors (equipo de la Segunda División de Ecuador), falleció en el accidente de tránsito en el que resultó herido el también futbolista Marco Angulo, quien milita en Liga Deportiva Universitaria, del máximo circuito ecuatoriano.
El accidente ocurrió este domingo a las 4:00 horas de Ecuador, cuando el vehículo donde viajaban cinco personas chocó contra una viga de construcción para un paso elevado, en una sección cerrada de la autopista Rumiñahui, en la ciudad de Quito.

Roberto Cabezas era el conductor del automóvil, según confirmó Carlos Semblantes, subdirector de la Dirección Nacional de Tránsito. El futbolista de 22 años murió instantáneamente tras la colisión. Otro de los fue Víctor Charcopa Nazareno. Mientras que Luis Ricardo Solis Estupiñán y Andrés Neptali Castillo Erazo, quienes también iban en el vehículo, resultaron heridos y fueron trasladados a diferentes hospitales.
Por su parte, la Liga Deportiva Universitaria compartió un comunicado en el que señaló que su jugador, Marco Angulo, era uno de los ocupantes del automóvil que chocó. Hasta el momento se desconoce su estado de salud. Tampocose ha dado a conocer información sobre cómo ocurrió el accidente.
