CIUDAD DE MÉXICO (apro).- Fernando Valenzuela, leyenda mexicana del beisbol y de Los Ángeles Dodgers, fue internado en un hospital de Los Ángeles, reportó el comentarista deportivo David Faitelson.
Este lunes, Faitelson escribió en su cuenta de X que el pelotero en retiro se encuentra hospitalizado, aunque no brindó mayores detalles sobre su estado de salud.
“Tengo un informe desde Los Ángeles donde me aseguran que el legendario ex lanzador de los Dodgers, Fernando Valenzuela, ha sido internado en un hospital. No se sabe demasiado. Él y la familia han querido mantener en sigilo la enfermedad. Rezamos por su pronta recuperación”, escribió el comunicador.
Previamente, medios en Estados Unidos reportaron que “El Toro” Valenzuela se alejó de las transmisiones de los Dodgers, donde es comentarista junto a los especialistas Pepe Yñiguez y José Mota; incluso, se adelantó que no regresaría para la postemporada de la MLB 2024 y aparentemente no regresará para los playoffs.
Valenzuela jugó para los Dodgers de 1980 a 1990, además fue elegido por seis veces consecutivas para el Juego de Estrellas de MLB, también ganó el premio al Novato del Año y premio Cy Young en la temporada de 1981.
En marzo de 2023, los Dodgers retiraron el dorsal 34 que vistió el histórico pelotero mexicano en una celebración de tres días.
