La Bamba por Playa, por México y la Paz; siete años en el Caribe Mexicano
La iniciativa nació en 2018, luego de que en la Riviera Maya se registraron hechos violentos que afectaron al turismo, como el atentado al bar Blue Parrot y una explosión en un ferry que prestaba el servicio a Cozumel.

CIUDAD DE MÉXICO (apro).- El festival musical la Bamba por Playa, por México y la Paz, que nació en respuesta a hechos violentos que han aquejado a Playa del Carmen, llega al séptimo año de organizarse de manera ininterrumpida en el Caribe Mexicano.
La iniciativa nació en 2018, luego de que en la Riviera Maya se registraron hechos violentos que afectaron al turismo, como el atentado al bar Blue Parrot y una explosión en un ferry que prestaba el servicio a Cozumel. Ambos eventos dejaron varios heridos y muertos y una imagen dañada del destino.
En respuesta, Daniel Pacheco, músico y reportero veracruzano afincado en Playa del Carmen, aglomeró a diversas agrupaciones para crear el evento en la zona turística de esta localidad, donde se han ofrecido desde talleres de son jarocho hasta conciertos estelares, todos de manera gratuita.
En los siete años que se ha realizado el festival, sólo interrumpido de manera presencial por la pandemia en 2020, pero retomado luego en formato normal, han aparecido bandas y artistas como Noé González, de Los Cojolites, Sonex, Los Aguas Aguas, el hiphopero maya Pat Boy, Kill Aniston, María Moctezuma, entre otros.
“La música es medicina, no sólo es entretenimiento, la música tiene efectos verdaderamente sanadores”, dijo Daniel Pacheco.
Este año el festival tiene un hermanamiento con artistas colombianos que mostrarán percusiones afrocaribeñas. Las actividades iniciaron el miércoles con charlas, talleres y recorridos con músicos de son jarocho a lo largo de la Quinta Avenida de Playa del Carmen.
El concierto estelar será este sábado a partir de las 17 horas en el parque Fundadores, frente al muelle que conecta vía marítima a Playa del Carmen con Cozumel.
El cartel lo encabeza la agrupación regia Viento Wirikuta y los colombianos Bantú y Kumandaay. Al final del concierto, como ha sido tradicional desde la fundación del festival, todos los artistas invitados junto con el público cantarán la Bamba al ritmo de son jarocho. Un recordatorio, dijo Daniel Pacheco, de que la música no tiene fronteras y es un agente de cambio social.
