LOS ÁNGELES (AP).- Kendrick Lamar será el gran protagonista del momento cumbre de la NFL el año próximo: el ganador del Grammy animará el espectáculo de medio tiempo del Super Bowl en Nueva Orleans, patrocinado por Apple Music.
La NFL, Apple Music y Roc Nation anunciaron el domingo que Lamar será la figura principal del evento en el Caesars Superdome el 9 de febrero. La megaestrella del rap, ganador de 17 Grammys, indicó que quiere mostrar el hip-hop en el partido por el campeonato de la NFL, donde se presentó como artista invitado con Dr. Dre y Snoop Dogg en 2022.

Lamar ha sido una estrella exitosa desde el estreno de su primer álbum: “good kid, m.A.A.d city” en 2012. Amén de sus 17 estatuillas Grammy, se convirtió en el primer músico que no fuera clásico o jazz en ganar un premio Pulitzer Prize por “DAMN”, un álbum que publicó en 2017.
“Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers”, el más reciente álbum del rapero, salió en 2022. Apareció en la canción “Like That” con Future y Metro Boomin, que estuvo tres semanas como número en el Billboard Hot 100 este año. También generó el éxito “Not Like Us.”
