EU pide a México investigar en fábrica de armas y municiones en Cuernavaca

WASHINGTON (apro) – La Representación Especial de Comercio de la Casa Blanca (USTR) solicitó al gobierno del presidente Andrés Manuel López Obrador investigar las denuncias de violaciones a derechos laborales y sindicales de una fábrica de armas y municiones en Morelos.
La USTR pidió al gobierno mexicano utilizar el Mecanismo de Respuesta Rápida del T-MEC, para averiguar las denuncias en la planta de Cuernavaca, Morelos, de Industrias Tecnos, S.A. de C.V., en donde presuntamente niegan derechos a sus trabajadores.
La queja fue entregada el pasado 23 de mayo al USTR por parte del Sindicato de Trabajadores y Empleados, Transporte, Carga, Descarga, Exploración y Explotación de Minerales Básicos, Productos Metálicos, Similares y Conexos de la República Mexicana (Sindicato Metálico).
La denuncia argumenta que Industrias Tecnos y la agrupación laboral que tiene el contrato colectivo de los empleados de la fábrica niegan a los trabajadores el derecho de agremiarse con el Sindicato Metálico y que los empleadores están despidiendo a los empleados que llevan a cabo actividades sindicales.
“Estados Unidos ha suspendido la liquidación de tarifas a los productos provenientes de Industrias Tecnos”, informó la USTR para indicar que esto el primer paso del castigo a la empresa que niega derechos sindicales y la negociación del contrato colectivo a sus trabajadores.
“El Tratado de Comercio México, Estados Unidos, Canadá (T-MEC), empodera a los trabajadores para que libremente se organicen y respalden al sindicato de su elección, con la invocación del MRR los estamos respaldando”, indicó Katherine Tai, la titular de la USTR.
Por medio de este mecanismo de investigación y solución de quejas sobre violaciones laborales, se han resuelto hasta el momento varios casos que afectaban a por lo menos 36 mil trabajadores mexicanos, de acuerdo con recuento que hace el gobierno estadunidense.
La USTR sostiene que han evidenciado suficientes de que en Industrias Tecnos se violan los derechos de sus trabajadores, por lo que formalmente pide al gobierno mexicano intervenir usando al MRR y tiene un plazo de 10 días para aceptar o rechazar la realización de la pesquisa y si la hace, un periodo de 45 días para llevarla a cabo.
