LOS ÁNGELES (AP) — “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” se mantuvo al tope de la taquilla este fin de semana en Norteamérica al recaudar 26 millones de dólares más, según estimados difundidos el domingo.
La secuela de la película de horror y comedia de 1988 le ganó a “Transformers: One” (Transformers Uno) que se estrenó recaudando 25 millones. La película de Optimus Prime y distribuida por Paramount Pictures cuenta con las voces de Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry y Scarlett Johansson.
“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”, de Warner Bros. y protagonizada, al igual que la original, por Michael Keaton y Winona Ryder, ha recaudado más de 226 millones de dólares en Estados Unidos tras un estreno espectacular de 110 millones — el tercero más abultado de lo que va de año — y un segundo fin de semana de 51.6 millones.
En tercer lugar quedó “Speak No Evil” (No hables con extraños), la película de horror de James McAvoy, con 5.9 millones de dólares en su segunda semana, para un total de 21.5 millones.
En general, la taquilla estaba en un período sosegado que probablemente acabará cuando se estrene “Joker: Folie à Deux” el 4 de octubre.
“Deadpool & Wolverine” quedó en quinto lugar en su noveno fin de semana con 3.9 millones de dólares más, para un total nacional de 627 millones. La única película que ha recaudado más este año ha sido “IntensaMente 2”, de Pixar.
“The Substance” (La Sustancia), protagonizada por Demi Moore , recaudó 3.1 millones de dólares en estreno limitado, quedando de sexta.
“Am I Racist?”, película del Daily Wire en que el columnista conservador Matt Walsh se hace pasar por participante de un programa de inclusión y diversidad, recaudó 2.9 millones de dólares, quedando en séptimo lugar y con un acumulado de dos semanas de 9 millones.
Estimado de las diez películas más taquilleras de viernes a domingo en Estados Unidos y Canadá, según Comscore. Las cifras definitivas salen el lunes.
